What changed in Forever
Most guides list every change. These are the WoW Forever Paladin changes you will notice first:
Holy Strike
A new instant attack at level 6, with Holy damage based on your weapon.
Judgement
No longer consumes your active seal, so you can use it whenever it is ready.
Seal of Fury
A tanking seal at level 10. Judging it taunts your target.
Consecration and Blessing of Kings
Trained at level 20, not locked behind talents.
Blessings and Lay on Hands
Blessings last one hour. Lay on Hands has a 20 minute cooldown.
Undead race option
Undead can now be a WoW Forever Paladin, which gives the Horde the class.

Why the class feels slow at first
Many new players ask when a WoW Forever Paladin gets better. At level 7, you have few buttons and low damage, so a group of three enemies can beat you. That is normal.
Three things change how a WoW Forever Paladin feels. The first is a better weapon: early on, a WoW Forever Paladin depends on it more than on anything else. Slow, hard-hitting weapons and early dungeon rewards make a clear difference. The second is Consecration at level 20, which adds real damage against groups. The third is talents, where Pursuit of Justice adds movement speed and mana talents let you fight longer between rests.
Mana is the next problem every WoW Forever Paladin will meet. Use Consecration when several enemies are on you, not on every single target, and let your mana regenerate by avoiding spells for five seconds when you can.

WoW Forever Paladin talents: where to start
A WoW Forever Paladin has 51 talent points at level 60, and talents begin at level 10. Each tree ends in a capstone: Light's Vigil for Holy, Shieldsworn for Protection and Unsealed Wrath for Retribution. The first five points cause the most debate among WoW Forever Paladin players, so we show both sides.
Benediction
Lowers the mana cost of instant abilities. It is the first pick in Method's leveling path.

Deflection
Adds parry, which helps while you are taking hits. A popular community analysis prefers it for leveling a WoW Forever Paladin.

Why does Holy Strike feel weak?
Holy Strike is a common complaint on a low-level WoW Forever Paladin. Its early damage is modest, and much of its value arrives later through talents such as Sacred Arbiter and Shieldsworn. A slower weapon also helps, because the attack is based on weapon damage. Do not judge your WoW Forever Paladin by this ability at level 6.
Best race for the class
Only three races can play a WoW Forever Paladin. Undead is the only Horde choice and the most common by a wide margin. Human is often recommended on the Alliance for Holy and Retribution, and Dwarf for Protection. The differences are small, so choose the WoW Forever Paladin race and faction you will enjoy for a long time.

Is the WoW Forever Paladin good right now?
It is too early for a firm answer. The beta only reached level 30, the class was reworked before launch, and the first raids do not open until December 9. Treat any tier list or damage simulation as an estimate until then.
What we can say today is that a WoW Forever Paladin is durable, useful to any group and friendly to new players. If you want a fast, button-heavy rotation, you may find it too relaxed. Many players like it for exactly that reason.
Frequently asked questions
Retribution is the most common recommendation because it offers strong early damage and good self-sustain. You can still level a WoW Forever Paladin as Protection, especially in dungeons.
Not well without a talent change. Dual specialization at level 40 makes it easy to keep a Protection build for dungeons.
Yes, but only as Undead.
At level 40. It lets a WoW Forever Paladin keep a second build for another role without paying to respec.
